Dengue fusion peptides in interaction with model membranes – a fluorescence study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Dengue fever is a widespread infectious disease caused by viruses and responsible for millions of cases per year. One the key steps during infection fusion between cell membrane lipidic bilayer virus, done glycoprotein envelope. At tip envelope there peptide widely conserved among four known virus serotypes. Here dengue peptides were studied in buffer solution interacting with model membranes using fluorescence techniques. Peptides have tryptophan residue exposed to aqueous environment when buffer, while hydrophobic negatively charged vesicles, as shown blue shift emission increase lifetime decay. Fluorescence anisotropy results confirm that more restrictive vesicles. Finally, correlation spectroscopy support importance electrostatic interaction, showing promotes significant diameter compared absence effect size neutral

Interaction of cationic antimicrobial peptides with model membranes.

A series of natural and synthetic cationic antimicrobial peptides from various structural classes, including alpha-helical, beta-sheet, extended, and cyclic, were examined for their ability to interact with model membranes, assessing penetration of phospholipid monolayers and induction of lipid flip-flop, membrane leakiness, and peptide translocation across the bilayer of large unilamellar lipo...

Interaction of cationic peptides with bacterial membranes.

A common feature of cationic peptides is that their site of action is at the membrane due to channel formation, and that they tend to possess strong selectivity towards their target membrane. For example, although moth cecropin and bee melittin are members of the same family of peptides that adopt amphipathic a-helical structures, the cecropins are strongly antibacterial and demonstrate minimal...

Interaction between PAF and human platelet membranes: a fluorescence study

The interaction between PAF and human platelet membranes was investigated by measuring the steadystate fluorescence anisotropy and fluorescence decay of 1 (4-trimethylammoniumphenyl)-6-phenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene (TMA-DPH) incorporated in platelet plasma membranes. PAF induced a time-limited and significant increase of the lipid order in the exterior part of the membrane and a decrease in membrane ...

Amyloidβ Peptides in interaction with raft-mime model membranes: a neutron reflectivity insight

The role of first-stage β-amyloid aggregation in the development of the Alzheimer disease, is widely accepted but still unclear. Intimate interaction with the cell membrane is invoked. We designed Neutron Reflectometry experiments to reveal the existence and extent of the interaction between β-amyloid (Aβ) peptides and a lone customized biomimetic membrane, and their dependence on the aggregati...
